Matt launched Traction at the end of 2013. The goal: to create an accounting firm specifically positioned to serve the needs of growing companies. Since founding Traction, Matt has worked with dozens of businesses in various capacities (from full-time CFO to project-basis consultant), helping clients implement sound accounting policies, maintain books and records, file taxes, manage cash flows, and leverage financial data to drive growth and raise capital. Matt holds a Master of Accountancy from The George Washington University and an undergraduate degree in business from The University of Arizona. He is a licensed CPA in Colorado, D.C., and New York. Before starting Traction, Matt worked at PwC in the Mergers and Acquisitions group.
Abby Burt is a licensed CPA in California and Colorado. Abby holds a Master of Accountancy from The University of Southern California and an undergraduate degree in business from The State University of New York- Albany. Abby began her accounting career at PwC as an external auditor, where she gained experience working with company financial statements as well as assessing the effectiveness of Internal Controls at both both public and private companies. Prior to joining Traction, Abby worked at The Integer Group in their revenue department.
Michael graduated from the University of Denver with a Finance degree in 2012 and joined the Traction team in the Fall of 2018. Prior to working at Traction, Michael was an Accounting Manager at a lending institution and a Lead Accountant for a contract research organization. Michael is an avid snowboarder and concertgoer.
George started working with Traction in the fall of 2018. Prior, he spent over 8 years in venture banking, analyzing and funding startup companies ranging from pre-revenue manufacturing to publicly traded SaaS technology. George holds a BSBA from UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School. In his free time, he enjoys golf, mountain biking, and skiing.
Tucker Weems is a licensed CPA in Colorado and Missouri and holds a Master of Accountancy from Oklahoma State University. Tucker began his career as an external auditor for five years in KPMG's Kansas City and Denver of fices, followed by a transition to KPMG's Denver Deal Advisory group for two years where he performed buy and sell side due diligence over small to large targets across various industries.
Andrew has a M.S. in Economics with a focus in mineral and energy markets from the Colorado School of Mines and a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from The George Washington University. Andrew has completed projects using a variety of software tools and coding languages designed to execute quantitative analysis on datasets. At Traction, Andrew is focuses on providing clients clear and concise reports on accounting, financial, and general business trends. When he's not deep in the numbers, you'll find Andrew at the poker table or behind a chess board.
April holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Management and has been working in the accounting industry since 2008. Before joining Traction, she held various roles including accounts payable agent, staff accountant and bookkeeper and has worked in companies ranging in size from small startups to large corporations, giving her a variety of experience in both accounting and finance.
Joshua Every joined Traction in 2017 after graduating from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management with a BS in Business Administration and Marketing. Before joining Traction, Josh worked as a consultant for a non-profit refugee network and then as a Marketing Generalist for Modular Mining Systems, gaining firsthand experience working with detail-oriented clients. In his free time you can find Josh trail running or playing bass guitar with his band.
Adam Deflorian is the Founder and CEO of AZDS, a digital agency based in Denver, Colorado.
